Accept that all people, ultimately, want to be happy. The only way to understand happiness and appreciate it, is to feel pain. We all have our tragedy, we crave it. Sometimes wallow in it -for sympathy/attention/but mainly, to feel alive. Somehow, sufferring makes us more human, more real. Even those who tend to suffer in silence, everyone is the same. Everyone suffer's the same regardless what the cause may be. All pain is relative.

Some people are fully aware of this. A friend once was so unhappy. I asked what was wrong, to hear the reply "Nothing at all, which is what's wrong. I haven't got anything to be miserable about...so I'm miserable."

Sounds insane, when you put it like that, doesn't it? And that was my reaction, at the time. No one is ever content for long, they can always find something to be miserable about.

(*Inspired by having read countless random diary entries from random strangers who are all so "fucked up" and hate life etc. And also, Huxley wasn't wrong when he wrote Brave New World...)
